<h1><strong>Role Description:&nbsp;</strong></h1> <p>Defense Unicorns is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our Fleet team, focused on building and evolving Fleet Management and Edge Management capabilities within the UDS platform.</p> <p>This role is centered on developing complex, data-driven interfaces that allow users to understand, manage, and operate distributed systems across edge and remote environments. These are not simple CRUD interfaces—they are operational control surfaces for real-world systems.</p> <p>You will own and drive the frontend experience, while working across the stack to ensure tight alignment between UI behavior, APIs, and underlying system capabilities.</p> <p>You’ll collaborate closely with backend engineers, platform engineers, and designers to build responsive, reliable, and intuitive experiences on top of complex APIs and distributed system state.</p> <p>While frontend-focused, this role requires strong full-stack awareness—understanding how data flows through systems, how APIs are designed, and how frontend decisions impact system behavior, especially in asynchronous and distributed environments.</p> <h2><strong>What You’ll Work On:</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Building interfaces for managing individual assets and large fleets of systems</li> <li>Designing and implementing data-rich UIs that reflect real-time and distributed system state</li> <li>Developing workflows for deploying, updating, and monitoring systems across environments</li> <li>Handling complex state management and asynchronous data flows</li> <li>Integrating frontend applications with backend APIs and platform services</li> <li>Improving usability and clarity for technically complex operations</li> <li>Partnering with UX to translate complex system behavior into intuitive user experiences</li> </ul> <h1><strong>Responsibilities:&nbsp;</strong></h1> <ul> <li>Design and build scalable, maintainable frontend applications</li> <li>Collaborate with product, UX, and backend engineers to define and implement features</li> <li>Translate complex backend capabilities into clear and usable interfaces</li> <li>Write clean, testable, and well-structured code</li> <li>Develop and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end)</li> <li>Contribute to frontend architecture and technical decisions</li> <li>Identify and improve performance, reliability, and usability issues</li> <li>Work effectively in a remote, asynchronous environment</li> </ul> <p><strong>Travel Expectations/Requirements:</strong> 0-5%</p> <p><strong>The listed responsibilities are not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the evolving needs of the organization. We are seeking a dynamic individual who is able to adapt and take on new responsibilities as they arise.&nbsp;</strong></p> <h1><strong>Preferred Experience and Qualifications:</strong></h1> <ul> <li>5+ years of experience in <strong>frontend</strong> or fullstack development</li> <li>Strong proficiency with modern frontend frameworks (Svelte or React preferred; Angular or similar frameworks acceptable)</li> <li>Strong familiarity with modern frontend tooling and build system best practices</li> <li>Experience with testing strategies across frontend applications</li> <li>Experience building data-intensive or state-heavy applications</li> <li>Strong understanding of API design and integration (REST, GraphQL, etc.)</li> <li>Experience working closely with backend syst
